The Crucifixion
This chapel is located in a flat area together with the Holy Sepulchre, the Pris of Christ and the chapel of Noli Me Tangere.
The Crucifixion
Originally the entrance was on the north side - as documented by Mr. Lamberti when he restored the chapel in 1624 - from where it was possible to see the drama of Crucifixion.
Today, the entrance to the chapel is lateral by some steps, from where, together with the crucifixion, is possible to see on the background a wonderful fresco made by an unknown and talented painter. On the floor, as well as on a side of the chapel, a crack remember the earthquake when Jesus died
The Stabat Mater
The shrine of "Stabat Mater" is accessible from the outside from where is possible to see the scene of Crucifixion from a lower level. Here a statuary group in terracotta represent the Virgin and the other ladies while suffering in front of Jesus.
