The Ascension
Originally this chapel wasn't so secluded, but following the outline of the ground it was the last of the other chapels, some of the probably situated into the Josafat's valley and to slided down together with the chapel of Gethsemany and the Lady's grave.
This chapel is intentionally elevated from the ground to signify Christ's ascension. With its octagonal shape and external arches is similar to the one of Monte Oliveto in Jerusalem.
Inside we can contemplate the statuary group which represent the peaceful face of Christ surrounded by Angels that goes to heaven and above the Apostles that surround the Lady with their emotional and amazed faces. Around, is possible to read the following sentence: "Lord, don't leave us alone, but send on us the Holy Spirit, as You have promised".
On the floor, there is the footprint of Jesus, taken by the one that effectively exists on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem from where Jesus went to heaven 40 days after resurrection.
